HISTORY
Tenuta Lamborghini is a scenic estate in Umbria, bordering Tuscany. It was purchased by Ferruccio Lamborghini in the late 1960s due to his love for the rugged yet charming landscape. After leaving the automobile business, the focus shifted back to agriculture. The estate spans 100 hectares and includes a 9-hole golf course, a farmhouse, and a 32-hectare vineyard. Initially, a variety of grapes were planted, including Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the mid-1990s, Patrizia Lamborghini took over and prioritized Sangiovese and Merlot, replanting a large portion of the vineyard. Currently, they are working on renewing the entire vineyard and reintroducing white grape varieties. The pursuit of quality, showcasing the land’s characteristics, and the expertise of Riccardo Cotarella have resulted in a significant transformation to produce top-notch wines.
